Kestrel

Pre-authorisation draft · Version 2026-09-26-v0.3 · Updated 26 September 2026

Practice details

We bring your company’s legal work into one place. The proposed service combines an AI legal assistant with review by an employed legal team.

Proposed service. Preparing for SRA authorisation. Provider, regulatory and insurance details remain unverified. No statement on this page confirms that an SRA application has been submitted or authorisation granted. Live legal instructions require the relevant permissions, completed checks and a written engagement.

Proposed service and scope

The initial business pilot covers routine commercial contract reviews and business letters under the law of England and Wales. The AI assistant gathers details, organises documents and correspondence, and prepares material for review. The responsible legal team will review accepted work and record approval of the final version.

The proposed price is £995 per month plus applicable VAT for three months, including three standard monthly legal tasks and one 30-minute monthly consultation. The terms explain the task limits, exclusions and proposed total. Paid work starts under a separate accepted engagement.

Court work, reserved legal activities, specialist transactions and foreign-law advice need their own competence, permissions and scope assessment. The legal guides and topic library cover broader subjects for general information. Their presence does not establish that Kestrel currently offers every service described. The earlier guide edition still requires substantive legal review before live reliance.

Registration and engagement

The public onboarding demonstration uses fictional details and simulated acceptance. Real self-registration is disabled by default until the provider, privacy and launch conditions are verified. An account provides workspace access and an application route.

Submitted applications need internal review of company details, authority, conflicts, applicable identity requirements, the service plan and engagement terms. The firm must identify a responsible lawyer, agree scope and costs, and confirm acceptance in writing. An enquiry, AI call or dashboard record alone does not create an accepted instruction.

People and supervision

The founding team page describes publicly stated founder roles. Professional qualifications, practising permissions and regulatory appointments must be checked separately. Any staff working overseas would need suitable competence, supervision, confidentiality and data-access arrangements for the tasks assigned to them.

AI availability describes access to the assistant. Lawyer availability, response targets and completion dates belong in the agreed engagement.

Complaints and independent information

The complaints page explains the proposed free internal process, privacy complaints, complaints against client companies and the different roles of the Legal Ombudsman, SRA and ICO. External eligibility depends on the provider and circumstances.

For current official information, visit the SRA Solicitors Register, the Legal Ombudsman and the ICO. A link to a regulator is for information and does not indicate endorsement.
